Healthcare industry veteran adds marketing, communications and innovation expertise to the DHC network.
JOE SHIELDS JOINS DIGITAL HEALTH COALITION’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Brooklyn, NY (March 12, 2019) The Digital Health Coalition (DHC), a not for profit organization that serves as the collective industry voice for the digital marketing of healthcare products and services, announced the election of Joe Shields to its board of directors.
Shields is currently president and co-founder of Health Accelerators LLC, a business-to-business marketing strategy and services agency supporting suppliers to life sciences companies. During his 22 years in healthcare, Shields has worked in global marketing, communications and innovation roles for leading biopharmaceutical and medical device companies AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Wyeth. Health Accelerators also joins the DHC as a Supporting Partner.
DHC Co-Founder Mark Bard said, “As the Digital Health Coalition continues to grow our efforts to inform and educate industry leaders on innovation in digital health marketing, it is imperative that we have input from the best in the field to help determine our strategic direction. It was with this in mind that we added Joe Shields to the DHC Board of Directors. Joe’s body of work and gifted approach to marketing and communications make him an ideal addition to the board. We are grateful for his willingness to share his expertise in this way and look forward to the entire DHC membership benefitting from his contributions.”
As a new board member, Shields said his initial focus is to continue to grow the DHC primarily by attracting innovative suppliers who responsibly serve their life sciences clients. “I’ve enjoyed the many challenges of my positions in healthcare marketing and digital innovation, and have collaborated with many industry colleagues, agencies and other suppliers that consistently test and scale new ideas and technologies to change how we support and enable patients and healthcare providers,” Shields added. “When these companies come together under the DHC umbrella, they can achieve both immediate and long-term success by influencing the future of digital health. Now more than ever, our industry needs the collective power of DHC member companies and their people to help us navigate the tumultuous healthcare landscape.”
